1) DECISION OR CHANGE REQUEST
HOW TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE CHANGES TO YOUR PROJECT
A typical project and project plan usually include some sort of a formal change management process, which provides guidance to the project stakeholders on the procedures that should be followed when making changes to the project. These changes can range from minor changes to major changes that drastically impact the project’s cost, schedule, scope, deliverables, or functionality.
Very few projects, however, offer a clear guideline on when a formal change control process should be followed—through the submission of a Change Request Form—versus when a Decision Request process should be implemented to handle changes to a project.
At 3 MAGIC CONSULTING., we have mapped and documented two project management processes that handle different types of change requests to the project.
